I've got a big shaver, and used it to do tips before I got a Williard. It does the job, although I found that the little conical tension screw, which holds the tip against the blade, can leave a very small linear impression in ferrules.
Perhaps I am trying to trim it too close.
The (white) nylon burnisher is great, but you must use patience, and very little pressure, as with any burnisher.
Otherwise, you'll "burnish the tip right off".
The tip clamp seems OK as well, but it takes a little getting used to, to seat the tip correctly.
