porper vs cuesmith

If someone were to want to start doing "hobbyist" building, how do the porper and the cuesmith lathes compare?

pros, cons etc

and are there other options?

I am thinking about getting a small repair lathe, but if it makes more sense to invest in a more "capable" piece of machinery I would like to know some more about the options
