Honestly guys I wouldn’t bother buying one if you don’t plan on using a second carriage. Even with the locating dowels in the bottom you still have to align it. Once you are cutting rings with no burn you are not going to want to take it off. For the cost, get the second carriage from Chris and be done with it.
The height difference on the spring loaded carriage is 1.0”. My block is .825” thick using the 2.25” height. If you try and mount the router on a spring loaded carriage you are too high to cut on center even sitting directly on the carriage. That is why I went with the second carriage.
