I am new to the carom forum and I figured I would throw this out to the experts. I don't know if you guys can evaluate with the information provided but I have the ability to purchase the table linked above for 500 or around that number. I spoke with the seller and it is a 4x8 but she said she doesn't know the manufacturer information. Given that it is a 4x8, I didn't know if it would be worth the money or should I save up for the 5x10 which would of course be ideal.

I appreciate any advice.

Hi Donovan,

Welcome to the Carom forum.

I don't personally see anything viable but a 10ft table.

If you live in a large asian community you may be able to resell at a profit?

Donovan, Isn't the actual cost more than $500??
1. teardown and moving cost
2. setup cost.
3. refelt cost.

Question? Do you have room for a 5x10 or just for a 4x8? Chances this table might be noheated.

What the Brand name?

Absolutely correct on the total cost being more then the $500. My guess is that I would be on the hook for another $500 for moving and refelting the table. Thus the total cost would be around $1000. I believe that this table is a non-heated table.

The basement can comfortably fit a 10 footer.

If you want to play straight rail this is probably fine assuming it's a solid table. If you want to play 3 cushion then give this one a pass. There's 10 footers around although they'll be $2-$6K used.

I learned 3C on a 9' table and it was not good. 8' Oh Boy!

I had the same decision problem.Go with the 5x10,it is the standard. You will not be happy with anything else.

I really appreciate the help guys. I have decided to pass and just wait to invest into a 10 footer.

Thanks again for all of your input.
