Post Pictures of your Masse Cue

Eric I would love to see a better picture of your Dieckman Masse' cue. Your videos are outstanding. During the artistic pool tournament, are there any vendors with masse cue for sell? I know you have problably watch all of the artistic video found at billiard tbc tv site. I hope you get more into artistic billiard.

Very nice video, Eric. I never got a good look at the cue though. Hope you have time to post a picture or two this weekend. How heavy is your cue?
Gene

I haven't gotten the chance to post a pic of the cue yet, as I haven't been able to take a pic yet. I'll get around to it though, I assure you. Life's keeping me very busy nowadays.

Here ya go.

For the record it says "Dieckman for Eric Yow" and "Bow Wow Yow Wow Q"

i just finished converting a house cue into a masse cue for a friend. what i am wondering, (as i probably did it "wrong") is how do you add so much weight to a short cue? or is this one of those trade secrets no one wishes to share?

I sent you a private message.

Yow, Thanks for posting some pics of your masse' cue. Did it take very long to adjust to using your Dieckman cue? I'm guessing there is probably a five to seven ounce difference in the weight.

I'm going to have to give that a big "no sir". When I got it I was actually laid up in the hospital bed after a bad motorcycle wreck. That cue was further more motivation to hurry up and heal so I could get back to a table. Two weeks later when I had the strength to stand at a table, I was already shooting with it fairly well. I mean, fresh out of the shipping tube it was on fire. This is partly because I had already developed a fairly proficient European stroke with my makeshift masse cue. See, I have a 21 oz Lucasi cue that I had a shaft cut down 12 inches, re-ferruled and tipped (13mm). So, I already taught myself various grips and strokes. Thus, when I got the Dieckman, all it took was adapting the power to the weight. In my opinion, getting used to the 24oz cue is comparable to using one cue on a slow table and moving to a fast table. You simply have to adapt the power to the equipment you're using.
I love my masse cue. Dennis is the bomb. Period. On a side note, I wish that I could shoot with other makers' masse cues to compare the various makes. I've only shot with mine and Okinawa Slim's Dieckman, but that's it. This December I'm going to compare mine with the Schuler masse cues that my colleagues shoot with.
If I get a chance I'll post up pics of my makeshift Lucasi masse cue. Maybe Sunday, if I remember.
-yow!

Yow, I noticed that sometimes you use, what I call an air bridge. If the cue ball is very far from the edge of the table, I have found that wrapping two fingers around the shaft helps my accuracy quite a bit. Have you tried using a two finger closed bridge?

I haven't tried the 2finger closed bridge. I'll give it a poke this weekend. Got a picture of the bridge?

I have found more important the variation in the grip hand. I've noticed different players use so many different styles of grips. Comparing Semih's to Miguel's to mine, for instance, but they all work. I want Roberto Rojas to teach me his grip and wrist flick - he grips between index and middle fingers.

I don't have any pictures of a 2 finger closed bridge. It's just a closed bridge with the index and middle finger wrapped around the shaft, instead of only using the index finger. I'll try to get a picture this weekend.

I'm having a hard time imagining this Roberto Rojas grip. Is he just squeezing his two fingers against the cue?

I found a video of him that shows his grip at

http://www.robertorojas.com.mx/rr.htm.

I'll have to try that.

Check out : http://billiard.tbc.co.kr then click on either 4nine for different masse stroke in nursing balls or Arts nine [ numerous video of Roberto Rojas in Arts nine, under the name Truth Peon] artistic shots. Section VOD Service click the 3 for 3 cushion ,4 for 4ball, next is pocket billiard, last is arts nine or artistic billiard.

What the weight and size of tip? What type of tip? Did you read or checkout the two websites I posted earlier and find your answer about adding weigh?

i don't have a scale yet, so i guessed, it feels like 23 or 24 ounce.
it is a 13mm tip with an elkmaster on it. my buddy seems to like it.

i do not know or claim to know how to masse, so we'll see if he gets any good at it. if not, we can always blame the cue:)

no i didn't see the links you posted, i will go take a look.
