How does the auction thing work? Does the winner get first place money plus the auction money for first place?
How do the people that buy the players get paid?

Before the matches start, the player is usually afforded the opportunity to buy a percentage (usually 50%) of his final auction price. If the player does this and wins the tournament, he takes home first place money plus half of the 1st place auction pot.
I‘m not certain if cold hard cash is always the form of payment.

9 Ball main event players auction will start tonight around 8PM.
1st round 9 Ball matches start at 9am Friday morning.
Stream will be live for the early 9 Ball matches before the One Pocket finals start at noon Friday.

Thank you. How do the guys that buy the players say for $15,000 and sell half back to the player for $7,500. Player wins and he gets his $7,500 back and the buyer gets his $7,500 back. looks like everybody is even?
I'm just thick I guess how is money made?

This tournament had 32 players in it and the auction paid out to 5th/6th place. The money‘s made from the rest of the field that didn’t cash.

Been watching the one pocket for days now, and the finals aren't being live streamed? Or am I misreading this and it's noon CST?
 
Why, oh why is the Lutman/Butler match on when so many pros are present?
