Practice 8 or 9 more often

Most the Filipino players I know would beg to differ. They won’t play 8 ball for money even if their opponent isn’t as good as them in rotation. Different strokes for different folks.
It sounded like you just agreed with me so I don’t understand your post. Lol

I practice stroke drills first to get my stroke in tune and going straight. Then I practice whatever game my next tournament is.

Very rarely will practice 9ball as the break is easy. So I usually practice 10ball if a 9ball tournament is coming up. Gives me good practice on 8ball break and 10ball break which is much more difficult. And 10ball just generally more difficult game to begin with.

Roll 16 balls on the table and try to run out.
I do that and pick the last ball I'm going play. I try to run out and get shape on that ball and don't shoot it. I scatter out all the balls again and continue the process over and repeat until I miss. It's a fun and relaxing exercise and utilizes basically every shot/position that comes up

You all practice 8, 9, or something else the most?

I hate 9 ball without an opponent with a passion. So 50% 8 ball, 30% banks, 10% 9 ball and 10% other stuff. Guess you’d say I’m an 8 ball player. 9 ball is getting a little less boring now that my game has improved though.
play the ghost. if you lose you have to do something you hate/dread/put off. 9/10b is pretty boring to play solo. the ghost is one tough hombre.
