Practice practice practice

Power of the 3 ball:
Probably repeat but worth it.
Biggest single night profit. Between $1,000 and 1,200. Starting as a quarter game for bowling party! Lucky
There are significant other plus for the practice I put in on it.
Plus 1: Ring games that allow 3 ball out and play close to that.😉
Plus 2: The break practice! Cole taught me that accuracy was more important than power.
Plus 3: Quick practice in pass aunt. Table in the shop is how I roll.😉
Plus 5: Shot selection for the 8 ball game. Plus the speed for the time a bogie can still win😉

All the time I have put in on my table.... I still don't have a 1. In half an hour on the 7 foot Diamond in Nationals I hit a hole in one. Or would that be 3 hole in one? Good tables! Plus I Got Lucky 😉

My second 3 ball story, probably a rerun:
3 partners at the North Hill in Puyallup, wanted $5 three ball on the 9 foot Gold Crown, with the old wool cloth. They were kind of giggling because they taught they couldn't lose. One posted a 3 right out of the gate. I tied it after a dry break. Not one wanted to tie my opening 4 for the $40 pot. Oh well.

Ships log; Daily Doubly variation. Instead of scratch for the double, now place the first three balls after posting the opening spot to spot kiss. With the double possible. Then place first 3 and score the double on make with billiard on next ball just keep the next ball or even two? On the table.
It will be interesting to see what the total score will be. I have 14 days logged.with 10 right and 4 left. With a low of 18 and high of 22.

Mr Herb, either forbade or recommend not keep batting average. As it could be a deception. How you performance on the last chance situations might be 0 and you still show best average.
I definitely strive to be above average. At my age it's more fun to remember the highest.😉
I only tracked longest runs with no attention to inning s.
8 ball 22 wins at $2 a game. As I had taken charge of the only other table next to the ladies league. Lots of eye candy. In Factoria, right near where I saw Ken Griffey Jr standing behind his Ferrari where he had been rear ended. As he was taking his new car home. Wife following in the Mercedes. The money in my pocket gave the total. The B player had to keep trying right up to close. They so wanted to impress the girls.

Ah the money shot!
One reason I liked lead off in baseball. The unknown factor. I liked stepping to the plate with the attitude of I am swinging. First pitch!
The power of the billiards played a big part in 9 ball.
Let's see, uh 2-17s and a 13 with all ending in concessions or close time for the 13. Probably my strongest. With the rat in the corner attitude. At $10 with a clip of $110. He had me down 80.
Self to self conference, as I had just separated from job with meager unemployment. Found my gear and was shut down by closing time. Up $50, the next morning, Saturday he comes in (my home room, The Mustard seed) and wanted to play for $3. I said, "no, we can play for 10 or 20. No three dollars! He was a young player on the road from one of those states with South in the name. He played good enough to get to Seattle.😉 He cried at the bar to any that would listen about me having his money and refusing to play him. He was immediately uh corrected by the home crowd (the 3 bar flies😉).

He played too good for me to beat at $3. His skills were good and figure he could wear me down and learn. No $3!

My two 17s at 9 ball started at $3. Both times I ran 2 from the break and opponent said, bet $5. To my yes. I put 5 more on him and we went to $10. 5 more and the stakes went to $20. After 5 more he retired. The second time I took a company check. Uh business consultant was the note.😉

The billiards variation is probably better for me. At my age....brain farts can happen. Might aim for the scratch....no really in competition.
Took a little longer but good for the gray matter. With similar 10-9 finish for the right. Bigger target but new angle challenge I still prefer the left for opening shot. It proves out with opening money ball breaks in both 8 and 9 ball. My practice sessions show the same luck favorite being Lefty.

I watched a little of the 9 ball round robin. Main interest was Kelly Fisher. As the tight pockets send the game towards snooker. Since I heard she had studied under Barry Stark. I noticed in her loss To Oashan. She had a tight hand nothing like Barry teaches. I did notice all the top players had the hand action very close to Barry. Hmmmmm

Hope she doesn't see this. I hate getting my ass kicked by a girl!
I get fired up when lesser players want to offer uh coaching.

In preparation for big event, I wouldn't gamble or play the little tournament for a week. Didn't want the opportunity for negative vibes.
I didn't hustle, I gave lessons. Some well for a year and a half the Asians in Bellevue played me in a 1 and 2 ring game. Every night at times. Then Vue took me to the Hilltop in Tacoma and gave me $100 to shoot at the guy they were playing for $50/game. They were using my ring game to sharpen for him. A couple of players had gotten to him so he was cautious with a stranger. Could not get him off of $10! The table look like a mine field holes and stains. No way for minute precision. So I had him down about $80 and the Asians hit man(pool table) interrupt to tell me He will play for $20! He was a real gun slinger on the table. I explained to him that I was there to play the owner. When he was done, I was done.
The owner kept the place open after hours. He quit at $100. He had the old cash register with the tinkle bell and would have to get the$10 from the till each time. Kind of amusing.😉 The timing!

Chaseing Tail, is my name for the new practice game. Got new rules that allow for a treble. Make both balls. While the second ball is always the target placed on the location of the next shot in order. At the end offers the bank instead of the cut with sauce, as the best double chance. With 17 shots the score was, R-16 L-5.
Much fun, David Rhoades taught me "The Big I" was imagine. Imagine the shot then find the path.

And oh yeah, when I get to the last cut, I spot a target ball on the spot. Again offer the treble.
As soon as we(me myself and I) agree to the treble, the left hits the impossible, well leave the second ball in the jaws after potting the other. Rules committee agree to a half point for that. Just to calm the crowd.😉 The right has tickled a couple since.

The Balance Point:
I carry my cue at the balance point and use the balance cue as a plumb bob.
The Karate Kid is about finding my balance point and then throwing out the tripod.
That proceeded to the Disco Duck. Will talk about that in a week.😉
A week for each lesson was and is optimal for me.
Go back and start over were the sweetest words. Backward Jan, in once a week increments. Each step gets a week.
Would be chasing tail but cold this morning. Warming finger s is my excuse.😉

Reminds me of Flyboy inquire at the bar. I was feeling humbled after starting to explain 9 ball.
My wife hits me with "this" quite often. The answer is, "this what?"
