Practice practice practice

Thanks for the shout out Thresh! I don't remember who you are in real life at the moment, it's hard enough to remember names without user names on top of it!

Anyway, all sounds good. Great practice! I'd like to add in the concept of working on individual layouts, setting the same layout up again and again and working on it until you know the best way to run them, integrating patterns/cue ball/shotmaking. I just recorded a podcast with Josh and will try to get you a copy, but it speaks to that portion of it.

Then of course there should be plenty of time just hitting balls and putting it all together.

Love it, keep me posted!
I am guessing that.....well based on a great experience I had. Playing in the Senior division BCAPL in Vegas. I had a great match in an early round. Can't remember the race but it was a battle ....and I prevailed. That was Saturday. I checked his name that evening and saw that he was 7-8 last year in the Seniors 8 ball, which was what we were playing. Sunday morning navigating through the pedestrian traffic on the way to my table.....I see him heading the other way. He points at me and says, "You won the North West Seniors last year." I returned the point and replied, "you were 7-8 in the Nationals." Big Smiles.

"Whatever is comfortable " is my reply to how much after the game is decided. Still Cordial 😉
So what's your Game?

Saturday that feels like a Sun day. Oh wait it is. 🤷‍♂️

Challenge O the Day is pocket or hang the 3 ball.
A whole new scoring system, negotiated to.....3 must be unremove
able for on the pad points. Lefty vs Right, race to 9.....go.

Gotta follow the Sun. So challenge modified at 3-0. One rail to the 7 ball is what the sun on my back prescribed.
Wow Lefty found the 2 railer to the 3 ball. 9 serving 3. 😉

Well the Rising sun. Has forced a shot modification. Now the z coming in on the short side of the 3. The near missed ones are still fun. Lefty finally scores a 5 with the funz E shot. I don't play for Fun Z's. Anyway allowed closing of the station. Now to find 3 or more to the 14.....hmmmmm

OK pulling the stops. Chalk allowed to find a shot that the sun likes. Hmmmmm. No joy but the Old Reliable Cocked Hat is available. And sun neutral. Off we go......into the Wild blue yonder......atta a boy give em the guns.....

Lefty pulls all the stops and invoked the Pool Gawds. Bypassed the 14 only to snuggle in for a backdoor kiss. 🤷‍♂️

Started on the line of the cue.
4 rails
5 for 14 ball in the 5 hole
3 for the kiss
1 for the white over the pad.
Lucky 13 by Lucky Lefty.
Just enough to win by 2. I need the emo G that smiles and grumbles.
And that's how long I can make it. 😉

Stephen Hendry says pool is to snooker as draughts is to chess.
I had to make sure it's checkers, so.
Google said:
Checkers is developed from alquerque. The term "checkers" derives from the checkered board which the game is played on, whereas "draughts" derives from the verb "to draw" or "to move".

The 3 ball outs are where I made money. Makes 3 ball my favorite afternoon diversion. Oh just to play 3 ball for quarters.
Oooops, the discipline guy says run out the line up first.

Noticing a pattern.

My random draw method has me dealing out the Alien pads just like dealing cards. Aiming in general directions, then finding the fun shots.
Once again after closing the first 2 shooting stations I find a Cocked Hat variation that takes me to the Teal 2 ball on the 5 point hole. 3 or 4 rails. The cue is parallel to the initial line.

Emergency rules revision: Lefty opening with 4 rails and white over the pad for what would be a station closing 5 points......So, 6 points required to close the station. Do it better than that is now the challenge.

Some times I just know......if I get to the table, I am going to win.
Old CSer rambling alert: Alternate break, hill/hill. He snapped the 9 ball. It would have been a real challenge to win 2 more against the A class. So I got 4th which still kicked me up to the Masters. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah he had just witnessed me coming from way back. I can't help but needle him as being afraid of me and taking the cheap way out. 🤷‍♂️
Be careful what you ask for.......I sure miss when I get called up. My favorite miss on the call was with Cole in the back of the van burning one after the north end pool room had closed. I got cocky and was bragging on my left handed game. So Cole called me up with, " How Good do You play left handed?" My reply was all Balls and, "As good as You." He immediately asked, "how much money you got on you? You know I can get us back in while they are shutting down." OH SHIT! Well my thoughtful reply was honest at 350. He thought a minute then said, "Nahh not tonight ":wipesbrow:

The Rest of the story: is always fun. No Grampa not that Rest. Besides us Gramps is good at resting. (Lots of practice) 😉
Shooting from The Rest and how the random deal of the Alien pads made it...... The Shot O the Day. I can hear the inner smart ass, "give it a Rest grampa ". 2 rails to the dirt color 6 ball.

The deal gave a perfectly natural shot for one hand and table hooked on the other. The rules committee made it Rest required. :P

The darts play with Steve Mizerack was priceless and of great value. Shawn Murphy gives good rest coach as well.
My best strikes in the one handed treetopped have come with the left and sometimes a treble hit is detected. Those are always associated with near perfect shot.

Lefty defeats the second station with a 6 point shot.
Looks like a Cocked Hat plus to the grape 4 on the 5 point hole.

It's a short track day:

Easing the race is always an option. Make it a little shorter can be deceptive. Well the length of the track.
Station 1 closed with a 3? Perhaps Away to move on, if I have done enough reps to keep my physical therapist happy 😊 So a 4 to close Station 2. The 2 railer past the 15 to the 12 ball. A fun study in rails. I have to reflect on McGoorty riding the rails. Wearing coveralls over the playing uniform. Oops wrong rails. 🤷‍♂️
