practice pro pocket reducers

Has anyone ever used "practice pro pocket reducers"? They look helpful, but want some opinions before I end up wasting money on them. How much smaller do they make the pocket in inches? The website says 30%, but is that on an unshimmed table? Also, do they have potential for moving, ruining the table somehow, damaging balls?

They haven't damaged my table or scuffed the balls any. They stay in place really well. I have a barbox with 4.75 inch pockets and once I put the reducers in they measure 3.3 inches. There is very little room for error. They are a great product to improve your game.

You could also buy some real shims. Cut them and tape them to the outside of the cloth on the inside of the pockets. It works pretty good. Plays more like a real table but sounds funny when you hit the tape and looks kinda stupid. But it works.

Very high quality product. I like them, I guess. My 4X8 has 4 1/2" pockets, so they are tight enough that I'm unlikely to shoot on a table with smaller pocket sizes.

Also, they are not an "all day every day" type of practice tool, since the tops fo the heavy springs over the pockets are sure to interfere with your bridge/cue. I usually just use one, and shoot into the pocket with that. It's not like you can play position with limited pockets like this.

They do what they are intended to do, but they making pocketing the balls tough as heck. Can get frustrated very quickly, and they really limit a lot of things that you really need to do to practice your game.

I have 4" pockets and when I put the reducers in you can still make a ball, but just barely. They work pretty well, too good to play with at that size on my table, but good for practice shots. I tried to just by 1 or 2 but had to buy all 6.

as far as i am concerned, one of the absolute best practice aids on the market today. Tom "Dr Cue" Rossman also spoke highly of them.

for $30 i dont see how you could go wrong. they will definitely help your concentration.
