Chapter 3 and hope final. The pool part.
The game had got to a stalemate eligible condition. We had everyone's attention. Management at every level. Bartender room owner league manager none told me to sstop. Got close and the llooks let me know when it was time to sit down and shut up. It took a while for him to do the same.
Okay back to the stalemate available. I wasn't sure of the rule but consider it a distinct possibility the way the balls laid. I looked it up afterwards and the balls fit the rule exactly for stalemate eligible. He had 2 balls and I was shooting the 8.all 3 were in close proximity to the side hole. Wait I will try to save words with picture.
The 8 ball was frozen and called. He was pretty proud of leaving me the lay in the picture. With the layout my conclusion was that ball in hand was a better give up than opening the balls as a rail after the hit seemed to require just that. So I slow rolle hoping for whitey to touch the 8 and then the rail. So close but whitey got the rail first....but the 8 hit the eleven then actually froze back to the rail. The closest witness was league director and pronounced foul. I walked over and confirmed it was frozen. Told the witness that it was frozen and that was proof of a rail after the hit. He got off his stool at the bar. Looked down and confirmed the fact and reversed his (unrequested) call. Management of the bar and his team were all there and watching(we had everyone's attention.) None disputed the facts and good hit call. Diaper boy well he concluded his lame dispute that since an uninvited opinion was provided then reversed and therefore couldn't be reversed....got no traction. He picked up the 8 and dropped it in the pocket to finish his tantrum.
That's pretty much the stalemate eligible lay of the balls when he quit
heck I would have offered same .....maybe, it wasn't my turn....so I had to be quiet.....We did get that straight.
