Does anyone have an opinion on Prather Custom Cues and Jacoby Custom Cues? I am currently playing with a Prather Custom Cue and I have a custom Jacoby j/b being made for me right now and will be finished and taken to the BCA Show in Vegas. What do you think of these 2 cue makers?

I picked up a Jacoby cue about 6 months ago and I put away a Schon that I have been playing with for 12 years. The jacoby hits very good and I love the way it feels in my stroke. The workmanship is very good and it just has a very good solid hit. I would have no problem recommending one to anyone.

Just my opinion,

I need to get a Schon! Everyone has/had one, but me! I also notice that a lot of players have sold or "put away" their Schon for a different cue. I've seen many Jacoby cues, but never really played with one. The one being built for me has a curly maple forearm and butt with an ebony handle and has a quick-release joint at the jump section joint! I can't wait to see it! Jacoby is taking it to the BCA Show and it will get picked up by a friend of mine.

I actually love my Schon...I will never sell it...but the Jacoby just hits as good or better and, its new for me, so I play with it. Someday I might go back to my Schon..but for the time being...I am loving the Jacoby. Very nice cue to shoot with.

The Prather I shoot with now is very comfortable and has a great hit with the 314 shaft. I love Prather cues and would recommend one to anyone. I'm sure I'll like the Jacoby Custom Cue.

I love my Predator and will never play with anything else. I have played with a Jacoby and if Predator had not come along I would still have the Jacoby but someone came along and offered me a lot more for the cue than I payed for it so I let it go. Another local legendary cuemaker is Tom Gauthier. He has been building snooker cues for almost 40 years. He got in to 8 and 9 ball cues about 15 years ago and he is second to none in quality. One of his regular clients is Cliff Thorburn. Next time you guys see Cliff ask him about Tom Gauthier.

Jacocy is compareable to a Schon.......We picked up a used one a few months back and I was impressed. Then I looked around and saw a few more....I was impressed. PS if ya lookin for a Schon........let me know. Still have 6 or so....and can get what ever ya want. I put my Southwest up for my Schon. Mostly for collectiable reasons but play had alot to do with it.
