Hello.
Have the opportunity to buy a 314 Fat shaft.
The person how selling doesn't live I the same city, so I don't have the opportunity to test it first.

I don't have any experience with this shaft, the only thing I know about it is that is a 13mm tip, and I like that.

So if you have any experience with this shaft
Please let me know what you think about it?

Is the shaft called FAT just because there is a 13mm tip? Or is the taper "thicker"
Is it LD?
Please let me know 👍

The FAT series was just a wider shaft. The taper is going to be slightly different because of the wider shaft

13.2 tip/shaft diameter. You would have to play with it to see how you like it. I used a Fat for long time and enjoyed it but it’s strictly personal preference. If you do not like it … it can be turned down.

Wish that were an option now, I'd like to try one and haven't seen any for sale ever.

Here's the response. Probably looses a lot of it's LD properties anyways. Thanks
"Hello, no the 314-3 shaft isn't made that big it's only at 12.75. The Vantage is at 12.9mm and is constructed the exact same way as the 314 so the Vantage is basically a 314 at 12.9. Thanks"

I wouldn't think Predator would deliver shafts that oversized either. Where do you suppose the fat shaft came from in the first place?
There was a time they would and did so. That is why I posted to go to them. The Fats were 314-2 Fat. That era ended.

Thanks. Something about buying a shaft that you can't get a duplicate of if you like it bothers me. Unfortunate they went under.

If don't buy them ( he has three) maybe you would be interested in them? The only problem is they are here in Europe and I Don't know if he is so keen to shipp? And of course, there is a shipping cost and taxes and all that. But he asking about 115$ each (1200 kr) he also said there is a small lift in the middle of the shaft when you roll it on the table. The tip and the collar touches the table when you roll it just a little "rise" in the middle. He also has one that costs a bit more (2000kr) about 190$ and that shaft is perfect.

I don't think I'd buy overseas, bought a golf club last year because it was hard to find, it wasn't cheap given the import charges etc. and it arrived with the box totally destroyed, flat as a pancake except for where the head was. Amazingly enough, the club survived.
Thanks anyway @ronfor0603.

Speaking only for myself. I'm not that fine tuned or good enough to appreciate a low deflection shaft. That being the case if I wanted a 3.2mm I'd have a shaft custom turned from a reputable cue maker.

I think maybe you would know the difference.

For me...It's not so much deflection as it is the feel in the bridge hand. I liked the Fat at the time. I used it so much the diameter is less than 13 now.

Same here, I have one shaft that is more than 13.25, I love the feel of it. Don't know why, I don't have big hands.
