I am in the market for a new cue to replace my plain jane Mcdermott. It serves me well but would like something a little different. The thing is just SO plain.

I called my local Predator dealer and he said he doesn't even carry the Z shaft Predators because they warp so easily here in the dry Vegas air. Is the 314 still worth the additional price over a standard non-Predator shaft?

(I am looking at cues under $500)

Who carries Predator cues in Vegas? Maybe you can order one online or ask someone in a similar environment, like AZ?

I live in Phoenix, AZ and have been playing with a Z shaft for the last 8 months or so. I know four other people locally that also play with a Z shaft. No one that I have ever spoken with has ever had an issue with warping. You should know that after owning both the 314 and the Z shafts I find that the 314 has a better feel. The Z shaft is a bit too skinny for me. If you can test hit a Z shaft before you buy. The 314 is closer to what most players are used to and it should make for an easy adjustment. You may want to consider trying the OB-1 shaft; I have herd a lot of good reviews on this product. If you decide to buy a Predator I would highly recommend purchasing it from Seyberts.com. If you send in the butt of your cue they will match the ringwork and ensure that the shaft mates perfectly at the joint.

I hope that helps some.
