Has anyone tried it that can give me feedback?

Do you have to lay it open and flat to use it, or can you insert and remove cues from the end like a more traditional case?

Will the pocket fit a Jacoby jump cue handle?

I'm concerned that the securing strap for the shafts will make it hard to insert them without opening up the whole bag.

Any comments would be helpful.

You can use it the same as a traditional case, except that it doesn't stand on its own. Keeping jumps/breaks in it vertically in between shots is no problem if you've got a chair or something to prop it up against.

There's a significant front pocket for larger/longer pieces, maxing a little over 18.5".

The securing strap mostly gets out of the way and isn't a deal breaker, but you may have to wiggle around it when trying to insert butt ends without opening the side portion dpwm the zipper maybe an eighth of the way.
