I am about a week from buying a cue for the first time in Five years. I am almost convinced that I am going to buy a Predator sneaky pete with a wrap. I have shot with a Lucasi for 5 years and i love it, but I think its time for a change. Does it take forever to adjust to the lack of deflection when switching to a Predator with a 314 shaft? No offence, but I can tell by the questions that you are not at all informed about Predator shafts.

IMO it should be very clear if you want a Z or 314. Both shafts are very different.

Not just the claimed "deflection" but the taper and diameter as well.

There is no shortage of people who shoot with 314s, and even less of a shortage of opinions on them. I would think you wouldn't have a hard time finding one to try out for yourself.

314s tend to be the most popular and if you really want, you can get a Predator shaft with a custom joint ring and pin for your Lucassi. This way, you can show up with two shafts, or have a spare when your cue is being worked on.

yea i have no clue about these shafts. thanks. i think i might just do that

It all depends on how much money you have. If it's not a factor I'd go ahead and get the full Predator. If money is an issue, get a Predator shaft with the Lucasi ring work.

Now for the really confusing part which shaft should you get, and for an answer to that I'd try and locate someone that has one already and see if they'll let you hit a few. There is a big difference between the 314 & the Z. Then to complicate things there's now the 314'2 and the Z'2. Which perform better than the originals, but cost more.
