Predator Austria Open 2021 (euro tournament oct 6 - oct 9)

Had to do some searching to find out it’s 10-ball...race to four...best two out of three sets...with the shoot off tie breaker.
Why do I have to be a detective to acquire that info?...yeah, yeah, everybody knows, right?
...so let’s advertise it like an 8-ball thing at a local dive.
Pool players, ya can’t take ‘em anywhere....next thing, they’ll be giving us purple five balls.

Albin Ouschan is playing. As others stated, Jasmin has other commitments.


Saw the Predator Pro Billiard Series logo, so I'm assuming its the same format they've been through-out the tour. 2 races to 4, best out of 2 sets and shoot-out for tiebreaker, then re-draw in final 16 for stage 2.

Let’s just go with calling everything billiards...so the five pin championship and the snooker championship can’t be distinguished till you dig deeper.
...and when you enter the British Open you don’t know whether to bring your golf clubs, snooker cue, or your tennis racket.

A lot of times I’ve asked the score of a match and someone will tell me the math...say 5-3...then I have to ask who has the five. Seems to be a billiard thing. Or maybe you’re hanging with smarter people.

20-year-old Bosnian Sanjin Pehlivanovic is the guest in the booth. Pretty strong English speaker!
 
Last match of the night, Tyler Styer (760) vs. Aleksa Pecelj (773).

Shows the desperate state of US pool in the Mosconi Cup given how many super young players like Szewczyk and Pecelj are coming up in Europe.
 
random comments on the matches...
- I like the set + shootout format, fun for a "TV" match.
- Tkach vs Gradisnik was pretty sloppy. The biggest difference between them and the men's matches was less pocketing ability and more safety play. Both players routinely blew makeable safeties.
- 10 ball remains a bit of a slog to watch compared to 9 ball.
- Nice stream video quality, low key/borderline boring commentary but that's preferable to the typical unprofessional US streamers.
 
Albin Ouschan vs. Sniegocki now.

Never seen Sniegocki play, he looks super solid.
 
Home-country favorite Ouschan misses two balls in the shootout and is eliminated!
