Predator BK-2 Questions

I'm considering picking up BK-2 over the summer but I was wondering what difference anyone here has experienced between the BK-2 shaft and the 314-2 shaft? The only difference I see right now is the tip. I was considering a leather tip for the BK-2 and one of the up sides of this might be that leather tipped BK-2 might actually be a decent backup cue to my 314-2 in a pinch. I have a beater cutech with a phenolic tip that's perfectly fine for straight on center ball power breaks, but I was considering something a little more forgiving on the combination power/english side rail breaks and that feels a little more similar to the 314-2 I already have.

The other thing is that if there is no real difference between the construction of a leather tipped BK-2 and a 314-2, maybe it might be best to just get another spw4 and have an identical backup cue?

Thanks! :D

I find the taper on the BK2 is stronger than a 314-2 but not as strong as a Z2. Somewhere in between. My friend put a leather tip on his and he likes it a lot. I still play the original Bk and if I have a problem I switch to it. I have two shaft for it, one has a phenolic tip/ferrule and the other is the original with a Moori III med. Hits good.

If I were you I would just buy another 314 or 314-2 shaft. If need be you can put the shaft on your BK-2 or your regular cue if the problem arises on your main playing shaft. I have a P2 and a 314 and 314-2 shaft, I frequently let people use my BK-2 with the extra shaft, it actually plays very well......
