Linen Phenolic Tip with Carbon Fiber Laminate Tip Plate (description in ad)

What is it & how is it different from the Sledgehammer tip?

Its basically a fairly thin phenolic tip on top of a carbon fiber plate, whose are on top of a ferrule. The sledgehammer is just one big hunk of phenolic material. I am not sure the advantage it gives. I can tell you that I think the BK2 breaks much better than the sledge.............here is a pic of the BK2 tip...........

Thank you. Stores have playing cues in stock & I made a good purchase. The owner let me try cues on his table for an entire afternoon, including some as expensive as $1500. I settled on a Universal Smart Shaft mounted on a Players butt. I'm happy with it.

However, nobody stocks break cues. We only have oral testimony. I was about to try a Predator BK at the Derby classic in Louisville, when someone ran off with an expensive custom case & pandemonium broke out & I missed trying it.

I finally bought a Sledgehammer on line, when McDermott took over & I thought I would be forced to pay the higher price if I waited. It requires vigilent chalking, but I have eliminated miscues & scratches, & my CB placement is good. The percentage of breaks in which I make one or more balls is increasing, but slowly. I'm now working to thrust my body into a power break & follow through digging into the table. Its a complicated motion. I know that my form needs work, because at the bar in my small town, I watch a master who has been playing for 50 years & beats everyone. He pots balls at a higher rate with his playing cue than I am with my high tech Sledgehammer.
