Predator BK3 shaft problem?

I've had my BK3 for a few months now and I'm noticing a few problems with the shaft. Lets preface by saying I purchased this from an authorized Predator dealer and I know it's a genuine item.


First problem is that the 'joint' between the carbon fibre and the wood section seems to have a small lip. It's not around the whole circumference of the shaft, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 I can feel that it's raised.

Second problem is what seems to be the collar of the shaft, below the carbon fibre seems to be very brittle. I've lined up the small chips with the reflection of the light. It seems photobucket compresses the photos so they aren't really clear.

Has anyone else noticed these shaft issues with your BK3?

Looks fine to me... Do you use joint protectors? Could have gotten damaged in your case or something.. You can try to call predator group and have them look up the serial.

I talked to my cue guy and he said maybe it bumped around in my case.

I don't use joint protectors.

That's why jps are useful. Its not only the metal parts that are in need of protection..

I play a lot of softball and the composite bats cost $300+. A lot of times there are bad batches, this is a known fact. Just throwing it out there.

I used to sell a ton of bats online. It's not the actual carbon that is breaking, it just seems maybe the carbon piece is bigger than the wood piece. I can feel it with my hand but I doubt I could get a photo of it.

That's why jps are useful. Its not only the metal parts that are in need of protection..

Eh it's just a break stick. and a production one to boot.. My bk3's butt is slightly warped.. if it were custom, this would be totally unacceptable.. Their quality control has been really poor these past few years..
