Predator bumper tap size?

I need to re-tap the bumper threads for a Predator cue.
Is there a tap I can buy for this?
I count 16 tpi.

Searched the forum for the Predator QR bumper thread size and came across this thread (and one or two others) that said it was M16x1.5. Went to the local hardware store and tried screwing the QR bumper into a M16x1.5 nut and the nut was too small. I tried the same with a M18x1.5 nut and it fits perfectly. Why the discrepancy? Am I using a different bumper than was is being mentioned in this thread?

Wish I had the right answer for you. My taps say M16x1x5
Thier bumper screws right in. I don't know of any that use the M18x1.5.
The Longoni is larger than the Predator and uses an M17x1.5.
Sorry

I have only seen the M16x1.50 also....I have the taps and have not had an issue, even using cuefits predator extension kit.

The bumper threads are slightly undersized. If someone made an M16x1.5 that was undersized and had a follower on it to keep it straight, they might sell a few.

How many m16x1.5 taps do you have? Leads are nice but not necessary.

I have 2, the 1st one follows the hole, then the 2nd bottoms it.

Did you add glue grooves to the outside of the bushing, or as the picture shows
Since 1999, I never put a glue groove in anything.
I've cut glue relief slots when they are needed but never made grooves to try and help the glue adhere. If I think the glue will fail, it needs threaded.

Interesting. Thank you

I've used an M16x1.5 tap but I was never happy with the fit. The Predator M16x1.5 bumper threads seem to be a little undersized and fit too loose for my liking, even when tapping into phenolic. I ended up making sleeves on a CNC to get the fit I was looking for.
