Predator CONFIRMS revo 12.9 has LOWER deflection than 12.4 !!!

The z3 deflects around 1.9” on a hard shot with max side from 6 diamonds on a 9-ft table. The 12.4 Revo deflects 2.0”. The 11.8 Revo is lower than both at 1.7”.

I played z2/z3 shafts for years. They have a natural pivot point (a bridge length where deflection is cancelled out on firm shots) of 18-19”. Now I play with a 12.5 Cuetec Cynergy CF, which has a pivot point of 14” due to slightly higher deflection, a better match for my personal bridge length and playing style.

LD tech is very real, but it doesn’t mean zero deflection.
what about revo 12.9 if you did test on it also ? thanks

If i go back and play with my classic Jensen w/ivory ferrules i have to COMPLETELY change the way i shoot. Nothing 'over-hyped' about lo-deflection shafts. Shots that are no-brainers with my Mezz lo-defl. wood or CF Rhino would be complete miss with the old-school shafts. That thing squirts the CB WAY off-line. Can't believe i used to play with this stuff.
Oh there is definitely a difference between LD/SD. All my wood shafts are LD. I am just saying saying like in this comparison that there is no discernable difference in deflection between 12.9 and a 12.4 Revo that a human could pick up on I don't buy that. You would need a robotic arm to tell the difference in deflection. You could obviously feel the difference in diameter and cue ball spin but deflection is really stretching.

I agree.

WTF?? I don't believe one word of what you're trying to say. Material DOES NOT MATTER, its endmass that causes squirt. No way a 13.5maple shaft deflects less than a 12.2 carbon.
It was intended to be low deflection humour but I guess it didn't have the desired effect.

Need to work on you schtik brother. They way you wrote it came across decidedly 'non-funny' There's people on here that still believe that shit.

here is the reply i got from newsome regarding the 11.8 revo

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

The 11.8mm is the smallest diameter shaft.

While it will provide the most spin (gettting to the edge of the cue ball) it will also "give" the most.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Kim Newsome

She has no clue. She told me that smaller shafts are the cause of deflection. Said that bigger shafts were more accurate because you 'hit more ball'. Be careful questioning her 'cause she gets real pissy real quik.WTF?? This is Predator's idea of customer service.

Having read some archive discussion where some members here who have tried out both 12.9 and 12.4 revo and found the 12.9 having less deflection longer pivot point (not by much ) then the 12.4 . I decided to confirm this with Predator itself by sending them an email (email photo below ) asking if its true and that the reason why this is so (as mentioend here ) is because even with the 12.9 " being bigger in diameter than the 12.4, its carbon fiber wall in the shaft end is THINNER than the 12.4 and thus lower shaft end weigth and deflection for the 12.9 . In their reply though they did not discuss about the carbon wall thickness comparison between the 2 they did say and I quote

Thank you for contacting us.

The REVO 12.9mm is the lowest deflection shaft, of the three.

I can also tell you, the most popular of the three, is the REVO 12.4mm.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

to be clear my email was sent directly to Predator company , not to Kim, it was Predator's choice to have kim reply to the email

Thats been known for years lol

yeah thats a shame shes the houston rep, she has that same attitude/reputation you speak of with plenty of locals

2.2” vs 2.0” looks like a 0.2” difference to me, or two hundred thousandths as you say.

And the thinnest Revo vs the Players maple is a full inch difference.
tenths of an inch .1 hundredths of an inch .01 thousands of an inch .001 ten thousands of an inch .0001

That's kind of the point with humour.
Difference is humor and sarcasm. What you wrote may have been sarcastic but it wasn't very funny. By the way you spell 'humour' i'm guessing you're a brit so i'm probably wasting time here anyway. ;)

She's not just the Houston rep she's the national cust.serv. rep. I remember when she was full-time on tour. Ok player but a real hot-head who got whiny/pissy pretty easy. Looks like she hasn't changed much. Someone from eng/tech staff really needs to school these people.

That’s nuts her the customer service rep?
I think she’s banned from bogies even if I remember that right
