Predator ferrule

I have a customer that wants to take a inch off of a 30" predator 314 shaft. I have never worked on any of the Predator ferrules and just looking for some do's and don't do's that you guys could suggest. Once I cut the inch off I will get a better look at how they are put together and try to copy that as close as I can. I already warned the customer I could end up completely ruining it, but he is not worried as he has about half a dozen of these shafts. I also mentioned the warranty issue but he insists I try on this one so I can learn and do more work for him in the future.

I would cut it at the lower end and not at the ferrule.

If you cut an inch off of the business end, you will have ruined the shaft.

If you've never replaced a ferrule on a Predator, there are some things you should know. I think if you want to retain the Predator charataristics
you should the same ferrule material because its all about the front end weight. Though I wonder how much a few hundredths of an ounce could make? PM me if you need any more help.
