Predator Lifetime Warranty??

I recently had a 314-2 shaft that I have owned for a while crack from the ferrule down about 2 inches. I was breaking some 9 ball and was not hitting very hard at all as I was practicing hitting more square then with power. I have had the shaft cleaned about 3 or 4 times since I've owned it but never shaved down or anything. Would this shaft be replaceable under the warranty? Anyone have input or dealt with a similar issue?? Let me know. Thanks

To date from my experience Predator's warranty is limited not life time. It seems that they will honor the warranty when it suits them to do so. I have had customers send in shafts with the exact same problem and they will fix or replace one and not the other.

My comments are based on my experience repairing and building cues, and when dealing with Predator over the last eight years, with that said I think their service is hit and miss at best!!

Appreciate the response. Im hoping the will at least fix it or replace. I have spent my fair share in the last couple years with them!

I certainly wish you all the luck in the world.

Please update us on the results.

Give them a call and ask them. If they say no, it's still repairable by any reputable cue maker.
I've often wondered about lifetime guarantees. Does it mean your lifetime, their lifetime, or the product's lifetime?

My experience in life is, they look at it and say, "Sorry, it's dead."

Stopped selling them at our last pool hall in town. They would not honor anything they sent them. I can't remember if the shafts were warping or if the ferrules were cracking or what but Predator blamed them all on bad tip installation or some crap. Really sad part is they were the employee's shafts and she did all her own tips at the hall and did them all correctly. Just my opinion but I'd be shocked if they warranty anything. Their CS was so bad they refused to sell Pred stuff or work on it after that. That was a few years ago so maybe they have gotten better who knows. good luck.

my personal experience has been nothing short of stellar. with the exception of not being able to replace my pre-cat 314 for another of its likeness but instead a cat314-2. i have sent close to 6-8 shafts to them in i would say at least a 10+ year time period. Some with broken/cracked ferrules. Others with splits between the laminates from the ferrule down or joint collar up. actually had one split entirely in half. and another that had the brass insert become loose in the shaft. each and every single shaft was repaired or replaced at no expense to me other than shipping they have even replaced tips at no additional cost. with that being said i hope the best of luck. just be courteous and polite it does wonders :)

There's a warranty policy on their site.

Have you ever tried to use it, or are you just going by what it says?

To honest I am aware of their warranty and so are they, but in my opinion warranties can be very broadly interpreted and they are very good at doing just that!!!:)
