Predator Lux leather wrap vs linen

I am considering buying a predator blak series cue, but all of them come with the leather wrap. I am used to playing with irish linen as i have a slight sweaty palm issue.

How does the leather wrap fare against the classic irish linen? Thanks.

"How does the leather wrap fare against the classic irish linen?"

How does it fare in what regard??? Longevity, sweat absorption, texture, what???

I'd suggest that you buy it & try it, then you'll know and won't have to rely on some else's opinion.
If you don't like the Lux-leather you can have it changed.
Should you have it changed, I'd suggest that you have it done by someone that knows what they're doing.
The Lux-leather is considerably thicker than linen and the wrap-channel will have to be addressed.
I work for Seyberts and I change these wraps on a semi-regular basis.

quick sort

if using leather wrap or no wrap try using some quik-sort on your grip hand it may help

As in fare in the grip and sweat absorption.

So if i get the leather lux and i want to change to linen it will not be easy (and costly) to do so? even at an authorized predator dealer?

The Lux-wrap has plenty of texture but a bad choice for sweat.
Linen will absorb sweat, Lux won't.
It's a synthetic rubber of sorts over a canvas type cloth with a fiber mat mtrl under that.
All in all, it's about .043/.045" thick. Linen is .025" thick.
That's why I say the wrap-channel will need to be addressed.
Because of the need to build the wrap-channel and the additional work involved, there is also additional cost.
Oddly enough, Seyberts does not pass that additional cost onto the client. I'm serious, they don't.
You might want to consider this when deciding where to purchase. Call around, then you'll know.
The BLAK is a nice cue. I've got one chucked in my wrap-lathe right now for this very same procedure.
It's going to Wh w/blk speck. My choice would be Wh w/dbl.blk spec. but what do I know?

Good talking with you, KJ

Alright thanks KJ!

I personally love the feel of the lux wrap. I have cues with different wraps, (cortland linen, conventional linen, smooth leather, wrapless) and I was worried about how this lux wrap would do. I was extra worried as there is simply nothing else like it on the market....this means it's either super-great and Predator cornered the market on it, or it is terrible and nobody else would bother. ...But I think it's simply a proprietary marketing gimmick first...but it just so happens to be great.

it took me all of one night to get used to it. Has a very nice feel. The "cushion" aspect of it (thickness, construction) is a non-issue. Plays very similar to my leather wrapped Schick. As far as sweat absorption? I would have to disagree with an above post...this lux wrap is the best wrap I have ever used for sweaty hands. Leather is great, better than linen IMO, but this lux wrap seems to never get too wet or slimy. I don't know how or why, but it just doesn't. I have an IKOn 9 1st gen.

Soulweb - you and I have the same cue (Ikon 9) and vastly different experiences. I have to wipe off my hands and the wrap with a dry cloth between, and sometimes during, games.

Funny, though.. it only happens with the right hand.

I do not like leather period. Predator has the nicest linen wrap I've seen on a cue. I don't know how they do it and I can't for the life of me understand why more of their cues aren't linen instead of that leather wrap they use. I hate the feel for sure.
