I'd guess another 30% less adjustment to aim and a stiffer hit than the original with the longer ferrule. That one was fairly whippy feeling.
Lots more different as far as I know,I think it had less pieces to the lamination it had a longer softer ferrule and the internal design to the tennon area is different even from the 314-2 model. The 314-3 has a nice ferrule material it's harder to scratch and polishes up nice it also has a vtek "Silencer" pad. The old ferrules were prone to melt with to much heat on the lathe and gluing tips was a pain in the ass they also were prone to crack from playing.
