Predator Revo tip pad

Hi,
I've glued a new tip to a Predator Revo shaft and after the glue dried, I've applied some side pressure with my thumb to make sure that it's glued well ans won't pop off. Been doing this for years with no issue.
When doing that the tip popped off with the pad that was glued to the ferrule. I can't really glue it back. Is it a big deal to glue a tip directly to the ferrule? never had pads on old Predator 314 shafts.
I understand that not having it will void any warranty, I don't care about it, I live outside the USA and sending anything over is not a reality.
So the question is really would the ferrule get damaged not using it?
Maybe I should use a kamui clear that has some kind of pad built-in

It's your shaft, you can do whatever you want!
I would use something as a substitute just to keep the (vault) ferrule from becoming shorter. It's already short.
It still voids the Warranty!

You can buy a red linen Phenolic pad that looks exactly like the Predator silencer pad. It appears to be same material. They are $5 each and no minimum. I believe there are rules against listing suppliers in this forum. If you message me, I'll let you know where to get them.

thanks
I ordered a pack of the Mezz pads from Ali Express, 5 pads for $36 with free shipping.
meanwhile I took a chance and installed a Kamui Clear tip directly to the plate. Just got back from a 3.5 hours session, it works well.
When it's time to replace it, I'll either cut it at the base of the leather, leaving the clear/black base as pad (I've done something similar in the past and it works well) or I'll put one of the Mezz pads but first I'll do a practice run on an old beat up shaft to find the best way to manually trim it.

You might be able to glue the pad back on if it's in good shape. Make a delrin split collet, put it in your lathe and slide it slightly past the end of the shaft and it will align the pad. This works for tips that have come off as well.

Looks good but a couple of things.
Picture 1 and picture 4 are not of the same shaft.
Mezz pads unless they have changed, are brown.
Curious?

The first image is the Predator Revo without the pad that I have installed a Kamui Clear tip on it.

The 3 images are of the same installation of a Kamui tan (not clear) on a Rhino shaft that I cut off the original tip (Time Crystal) but kept its clear pad.

I really don't care about the pad's color as long as it gets the job done.

A less expensive way to go is to use a slab of phenolic. Cut it into squares and once glued to the ferrule turn it down to the desired thickness. At first, I tried cutting them round, but that just wasted time and material. Square is quick and easy to make.
