I have a predator shaft that I have had for at least 12 years. I keep hearing there are different versions, is there one version more desirable then the rest?

You probably know from the Predator web site that they have the 314, the "Z" shaft, and now the 314-2 FAT shaft.

If you were asking about the 314, there are at least three versions that I know of. One says 314, one says 314 with cat, other says 314-2 w cat. I think the earliest ones were 10 pie pieces, the rest 6. Some also have differing ferrule materials, I believe. Lastly, I noticed that the latest 314-2 version has a much shorter pilot than previously.

PM Marcus (Fast_N_Loose) and he'll tell you anything you want to know about Predator shafts.

This link will take you to Platinum Billiards Deflection Ratings of many production shafts and after-market shafts including the 314, 314-2 and the Z. The Fat Shaft isn't on there yet:

the earlier 314's came in came in two versions like 10 wedge and 12 wedge.

now they only come 10 wedge.

ive heard the 12 wedge shafts bring more $$$
