Predator taper

Does Predator make z2 shafts with different tapers? Someone told me they make a 'Predator taper', and a 'pro taper'.
Is this correct. If it is what is the difference?

The z2 comes in only one taper which is a conical taper.

But...

Seyberts offers what they call an S-tuned z2 in which they turn a z2 into a pro taper...

Predator has developed their cue to have certain playing characteristics. Does changing the shaft change these charactistics?

Yes a different shaft can cause cue to play different.

Is it reasonable to extend the taper without significantly changing the performance properties of the shaft? I have a Z2 shaft in the mail, and I've been playing with a Z shaft, of which I'm not a huge fan of the conical taper. I'm sure Seybert's isn't getting specially crafted shafts from Predator, so would it be any different to take one to a cuesmith and get it done to some extent instead of shelling out to buy new?

Predator Z's have really thin walls (they're hollow). You can't turn them down very much without causing issues.

Anytime you change the taper of the shaft, you change it's performance. It changes it's pivot point and it's "whipyness" . Could you duplicate Seybert's shaft? Absolutely! But unless you have tried a Seybert's shaft and really loved it, I wouldn't mess with it. You can't go backwards, but if you decide later you want to try it, you can.

The conical taper doesn't really bother me, but then again I shoot with a glove. I really like wearing a glove because, I can't feel any irregularities in my shaft, It is always slippery, and I can make unconventional bridges and they all slide well.
