Played with one for about a year or so when I bought the 20th Anniversary cue a few years ago. Played with the 314-2 for years on a sneaky before that. It was a little thicker, but that kind of thing doesn't bother me like it appears to most. I felt it was a firmer hit than the 314 and lower deflection, especially on long firm strokes. Didn't really have any struggle switching to it. I would still be playing with it, but switched to the Revo and have been playing with it ever since. The Vantage is my back up in case anything happens like a tip popping off.

I've spent some time with my buddies an it's definitely a stiffer shaft than a 314-2 or 314-3. I personally think it's a little thick for my preference, but I also think it's got lower deflection than a 314 or Z, but not as LD as a REVO. Just my two cents.

Only thing I use now. It is thicker, 12.9 vs 12.75. But that’s not the only difference, different taper too. It’s more of a straight taper vs a pro-taper. It’s kind of like the z shaft taper. I ended up turning mine down just a bit, 12,75.
Plays stiff, more feel, lower deflection than the 314 by a ton, firm hit.

Biado just won the world 9 ball championship with the vantage shaft.
I have a custom cue with 2 vantage shafts FS if anyone interested

The Vantage shaft is 13.25mm. Only the tip and ferrule is 12.9mm.

The shaft is Fat..............................................................................

These boys use it so there must be something good about the shaft...
