Predator advertises their z3 shaft as having a hybrid "conical taper" with an 11.85 tip diameter. What exactly does that mean? Is it a mix between a conical and a pro? Any info appreciated...

Where exactly did you see this advertisement? I've never seen this description ever.

Form what I understand it's a slower taper than the typical Euro-taper but It's also not straight like pro-taper.
I have a Z2 and it's one of very few LDs I actually can play with.
Don't know why I play it better than the 314 version, and I don't really care to analyze it either, however, coming from lots and lots of pro-tapered shafts I never noticed any difference in pro-taper vs. the Predator version of the conical taper.

Huh, how about that. I have no idea, this is a entirely new description for them. The original Z, and the Z2 were / are Conical & 11.75mm Tip Size. I do know that Seyberts has an S-Tuned Z Shaft Variant that they customized for them with a Pro Taper.

Give Predator a Call, I know that they can answer.
