I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Japanese makers Mezz or Adam picks him up. Mezz has more money to spend than Adam, but they already have a pretty healthy line up. Adam on the other hand, has a custom line called Musashi and they're made well and play well, and Adam doesn't have any world beaters on their bench. The Japanese will always love Earl mostly because the "old" Earl is still the Earl that everybody is most familiar with. And, many of his recent antics don't get picked up in detail here in Japan.
However, I know first hand that Earl hates coming to Japan for the Japan open in particular because of the tight schedule that they run. If he gets picked up by either of the Japanese makers, he'll be forced to play in more events over here, and that could be something that could limit a deal being made.

Hey are the Earl Strickland Signature model Cuetec cues now a collectible item.

Cuetec stopped putting his signature on cues last year. I don't think they are worth any more or less either way.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Fury cues as a sponsor...seems like a pretty good fit to me.;)

I think Predator would be the perfect sponsor for Earl. Whomever it is, it will probably be a U.S. company, knowing Earl.

Southpaw

Hmmm... As of today, Earl's picture is still on the cuetec website and his name is still listed under 'Pro staff'.

I'd be kinda upset about that if I was Earl. His relationship with them is over but they are still using his image on their website to sell cues.

i think earl is going to do something great for pool cuz if he does get picked up by another country there gonna have to play more tournys in the u.s cuz he doesnt like to play in othe countries like someone posted earliear we might enp up seing cool diffrent formats maybe more doubles matches or ring games , or 9 ball matches race to 20 cuz i kno he sed u might be he a few games but u cant beat him in a long run just like efren ,then maybe earl will get the respect he deserves

I think Earl should get sponsored by Phizer. They make Prozac and Viagra I think. Do a commercial showing a montage of Earl's raging and agonizing moments, then to a passive Earl, then to a smiling Earl.

"Phizer, everything World Champion Earl Strickland needs to keep him happy"

I can see Earl after a loss. It was my meds, damn Phizer switch my meds and I couldn't poke it where I wanted to stroke it.

Geeze, John. For a while there I thought you were just p o'd about some of the posters bashing non-American cue companies but the more I read your posts about Earl, the more I suspect that there is something else eating at you. Did Earl ever mistreat you personally? (Seriously)

And just for the record, there is at least one professional pool player who is sponsored entirely by an International drug company.

So while your personal jab at Earl is humorless, it does offer possibilities that most people don't even dream about.

Come on Joey. It was just fun. I certainly am not the first person to suggest a drug company would be a good fit for Earl.

No Earl has never "done" anything to me personally. Unless you want to count the time he cornered me and made me listen to a rant about how the tobacco farmers in NC got screwed and that's why he turned to pool and now the pool players are getting screwed oer by Simonis making them play on slippery new cloth every tournament, and pros shoudn't be treated that way, and, and and,....

Sorry you didn't find it funny. I thought it was right on topic.

would anyone like to predict who might pickup earl?

I wonder if he would be interested in representing Willeecue?

After a year away from making any new cues I plan to start the shop back up this summer and turn out a dozen or so custom cues.

Wonder if I could sell a dozen custom cues for enough money to pay Earl what he is worth?
Lets face it ... the guy is a pool legend and for what he can bring to the table is gonna cost some serious money!

Who is that?

who would sponsor anyone to smash their cues or just to throw on the floor or to raise them against other players off table like a weapon. You guys must be somewhere else close to cloud nine.
