hey .....have been reading the forum for many months and would like to ask a question.....first off would like to say really like some of the things i have seen you write, hate that i have never seen you play.....wanted to know what do you do when you are getting ready to play.....i know all players have a warm up routine....and there are those few that just seem to stay in stroke......what are your pre-game warm up routines....and this goes for either tourny play or action.....thanks ,juston coleman

ps.....im about 2 hours from where helena thornfeldt and monica webb play at.....both are great ladies but have never seen anything that really blows me away..j

Hi Juston,

First off, thank you. The routines are pretty much the same.

During the tournaments I try to relax. I do still get nervous so it is important to relax. I hit racks of balls (trading with my opponent) for the first few turns at the table. If I realize I am having trouble with a shot I shoot it until I am comfortable shooting it. That way it isn't in my head all match that I can't make that shot. The biggest part is trying to have a little fun. That's how I relax, joking around with other people.

When I get in action, the routine is pretty much the same. Hitting a couple racks and making sure I am comfortable with things. The only thing that differs is the person you are playing and how many chances you get. I don't get as nervous because you get more than one chance to beat the person or lose to the person unlike a tournament. There is also some woofing or trash talking going on sometimes when setting up a match. That emotion makes warming up a little different. I am either laughing at the person for what they have said or get a little riled up for what they said.

For the most part things are the same. There are just different emotions in tournaments and action.

Hope it helped. I like reading the posts you make as well. You seem like a very knowledgable person. Take care.

thank you sarah......hopefully you can make down south sometime and i can get a chance to see you play some......hope all is well and you are staying warm......juston

Thanks Juston. I'm sure sometime I will make it down that way. I know there is a tournament in Florida this year and we will probably drive. That takes us right through your neck of the woods. I would like to make it through the south. I haven't travelled that way too much.

All is well here but it is hard to stay warm. Take care.

Don't let her fool you. She breaks real well! Sarah is quite a player as many of you know. Great personality for the game too.
Best of luck Sarah..
