Hi Keith,

As one of the greatest ever players in the world, tell me how do I an average player prepare to play one of the current best in the world in a tournament.

The situation is this I have qualified for the APN Invitational in march and in my qualifying group I have Imran Majid (One of the UKs and Worlds best players) it is only a race to 5 with alternate racks in the group stage.

But still I was wondering if you had any tips???

check the event out on this link

Heckler, congratulations to getting to the next level!

I'd suggest a couple of things. With a world-class player like Majid, if you miss, do not leave the ball hanging in the pocket. Make sure you try to play a safety if you miss, number one.

This is a short race, and you can win. If you were playing a longer race, you'd probably have a little more the worst of it. With alternate break, you know you're going to get to the table. When it's your turn at the table, you must put that pressure on Majid and make every shot count. If you can get to where you have three games, you're going to have him worried.

When the match begins, if you're feeling the butterflies, always remember who you are. Don't let his name scare you. When you first start out, let him know you're there, like he's not the only one playing this game. As the match goes on, you will probably be able to loosen up a little bit.

Before the match, if it's possible, try get off and practice by yourself for a little while. Clear all the cobwebs out of your head and only think about pool balls hitting the hole.

I appreciate you acknowledging me. Good luck to you, and I hope you win!

Thanks
