Back in the early '60s i was taught this way of applying english by an old time player named Sam "one poke " Fauver in NJ. It's pretty simple. Aim center cue ball and just pressure your bridge hand left or right or up or down on the last stroke. It is most effective on long shots because you aim center cue ball keeping everything in line and then just pressure on the last stroke.
When i show this system to people they look at me like i just got off a spaceship. I have been doing this for 50 years and i guess it is just automatic for me because i do it with out much thought.
Has anybody heard of this before ?

As a general rule, I wouldn''t recommend making any last second changes in the way you set up for a shot. I do understand the concept. 50 years is plenty of time to create a habit, and it obviously works for you. If I were to teach it to any of my students, I would have to alter the idea and get away from making that change at the last second.
