Hi,

I was wondering if anyone out there knows much about Ed Prewitt cues and how they play? Where is Prewitt cues? Are they a solid player?

I have heard the APA will not allow the use of the Sledgehammer break cue because the tip is not leather. Is this true?

Thanks for your help.

in terms of craftsmanship, they don't get better than prewitt. in fact, his inlays are the best i've seen. he has access to high end machinery that no other cuemaker has, which allows for some AMAZING inlay cuts. but he has an uncomplicated style. mostly old fashioned dots and snowflakes and diamonds.

i got a chance to play with a plain prewitt and was not blown away. the hit felt stringy,,,,,,,splintery,,,not as solid as i had hoped. i asked if this was characteristic and my friend said no.

prewitt is in the los angeles area. call him(i think he's listed in santa monica,,310 area code), and he will send you images that include close ups of how tiny his inlays can get. amazing.

HE AIN'T CHEAP!!!. because i think he's getting top $ from japan(not sure, though)

Eddie Prewitt makes great cues. Check Indyq.com for some samples.
Coincidentally, Eddie made jump cues eons ago with phenolic tip/ferrule called Eddie's 747. BCA outlawed them then.
