First and third in the picture is what im looking at with rosewood too but that is not in the picture... I Kinda want to get other peoples opinion what would fit best with the white seperating the Maple and the other dark wood. Will Curly, Birdseye, or regular Maple look good?

I have the OB-1 Shaft 3x8-11 and will ship it to whoever makes it to make it flush with the connection and weight. At a good price please PM me all cuemakers.

You might have to go another route.

I maybe wrong but you cant add veners to a pre made blank. You would need to contact one of the cue makers that makes custom blanks to someones specs. Prather and John Davis come to mind first. They are alot more than the ones you have pictures of from Cue Components.
Prather $250
John Davis $350 and up
Maybe someone can cut them in with there cnc machine but thats seems like it would cost the same as just buying the blank from the ones ive mentioned.

Happy hunting
Dustin

White veneer in maple is going to look like crap, in my opinion. If you really want white, you should go with 2 veneers, white on the inside, black or other dark veneer on the outside.

Absolutely!!

I know its im not going to buy the already made blanks, its just an image on how it would look on certain cues.

Yea some people told me to have 2 veneers... a thin black one on top of the white to border it.

A white veneer will blend in with unstained maple and look kinda wierd. If you stain it a light brown or orange it might look better. Or you could use a nicer contrasting wood for the forearm like tulipwood, bloodwood, or honduran rosewood.

Heres the update:

I kinda want it to blend with the white veneer, or ivory veneer? with ivory rings, im thinking of ivory on everything depending on price

Im trying to hold out on black on this cue... I was thinking not to put a black ring where the joint is but the OB1 shaft has the black collar, so I gotta make it match.

would think your down to about 10 cuemakers who might do it with your wood choices. Probably less. Wonder if you could get a blank made and then have someone finish it.

Mark Bear perhaps could make it, I'd at least ask. http://www.bearcues.com/

Theres a guy name Murray Tucker that has this wood in his website.

Im not asking for an already made blank of that type of wood... thats why its custom made, to be built from materials and put together

I can say I dont know how to talk pool slang but I hope cuemakers understand what im talking about.

Ex. The White/AfzeliaBurl/White Ring meaning... 2 white phenolic or ivory ring that are 1-2mm thick sandwiching the Afzelia Burl wood that is also 1-2mm thick. It seperates the cocobolo butt sleeve

one more try

First off sorry if I misinterpreted your first post. Mark bear is someone who has use burl in his fullsplices so you should give him a ring. Prather also did a few blanks that were posted recently I forget buy who but one was snakewood and that's an unstable wood so they must have cored it so they would be another to look at. If you can get Tucker to make that cue you should defiantly go with it.

Good luck in your search

The afzelia cue that is on my site is a short splice. I would not make a full spliced blank with this wood.

Which one darker after finish... cocobolo or redwood? Those are the two woods I will be getting instead of afzelia burl. I have a cuemaker that is doing this for under 600. Does that sound about right?
