Price of new Jacoby Plain Jane?

Hi. I'm curious about what the price might have been for a Jacoby like the one in the photo when new and what it may be worth now. It's a model 0111-23.
Also, is there any way to verify that a cue is a Jacoby other than the sticker at the bottom and the name on the bumper? Any identification marks inside the butt? I bought a used cue that looks like this, was advertised as a Jacoby, but is missing the Jacoby name on the butt cap and the shaft has a good amount of taper roll. The bumper does say Jacoby on it but that could have been switched out. I'm wondering if it's worth keeping the butt and getting another shaft or if I should just return it to get my money back.
Thanks for any help.

No name and a bad shaft, I'd return it. If you want to sell it later it has almost no resale value unless you sell it to someone who knows nothing about cues.

I don't know about the price, but I play with a Jacoby, and there should be a signature and date on the butt.

I have an old J-1. No signature on the butt. But the plastic butt cap has Jacoby on it in script writing...

If I recall correctly, it cost around $300 new...this back in the early 1990's.
