 QUOTE=pete lafond]So when you are off a little in a given day. How do you adjust your feel? I'm sure you just do not keep hitting balls until you feel them because that would be purely senseless as there is no measurable goal with feel.

I think many sense it is feel because they are not understanding what is really going on under-the-hood. When shooters play with feel it is because there is total trust in the engraved system they have established earlier in life. Many no longer even need to think about it.

Feel relates to confidence and is affected by emotions. When emotions are stirring up hazard, feel becomes unstable. Feel is not solid enough to rely on.

If a player pockets balls by feel, then the player should then be able to close his eyes and never misses a shot. If on the other hand, a player is playing at his peak performance, then he is doing so because his system is engaged in automatic and it is in fine tune.[/QUOTE]

this is a prime example of what im saying . here is a guy that starts out by asking a question which is great :p (So when you are off a little in a given day. How do you adjust your feel)? but he doesnt stop there but goes into
how it really is? based on what proof? well i wont respond because his second paragraph starts with I THINK?????????????? WHICH IS LIKE SAYING BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE MY BEST GUESS IS. im more into fact than fiction . unless you are a pro then i may consider it. but i have yet to here a pro give the advice above.

Don't hold your breath Pete or you'll die from asphyfixiation real quick. This is the SAME Mark Tadd that was on here before. Anytime you ask him to expound on something, he does a disappearing act. I don't know what he has anything in his head or if there's anything locked up in there. Just watch the pattern...you'll see what I'm talking about.

Mark, people say "I think" because this is an opinion-based forum. If you and another pro disagreed, then which "fact" should we believe? And you know very well that everything you say will not 100% agree with what every other pro will say. That's why we have these forums: to read and share opinions.

Some people on this board are professional Psychologists. Should they tell you what you're thinking as fact, even if you disagree? After all, they're professionals.

It's a sharing board, Mark. It's not a classroom with students waiting for a teacher.

Mark,
With all due respect to your playing ability...(I know you are a great player), are you suggesting that no one in here but you or some other pro has a right to express an opinion or offer a technique? Are you suggesting that because someone is not a pro that all of their opinons and ideas are invalid, have no value, and should not be set forth in this forum? Are you suggesting that you are always right on every point because you were a pro? That sounds to me like a bit of an overgrown (out-of-control?) ego and a somewhat narcissistic point of view.

I am NOT a pro, don't pretend to be and will never be. However, I'm not completely devoid of valid pool information. When someone asks for help and I have some information I feel will help them, I will put it forth, whether you like it or not. If I'm wrong, then I'm just wrong...it happens (by the way, you are subject to that, too...being human and all). In that case I'll learn something new.

The way I read the quoted post, the question was rhetorical, which of course makes a huge difference to the point Mark tries to make. JMO.
