Just came back from the Windy city cue show at the Pyramid club.
While walking thru the numerous tables of custom cues I ran across Tim Prince. After looking at his cues I was impressed with the quality & detail of his work, and was shocked to find out he lives in a suburb of Chicago. Shocked because I live in Chicago and have never seen or heard of his cues.
I thought I knew most of the local cue builders ,( Darrin Hill, Joe Gold, Hereck, Spitz, etc.) Talk about a fantastic cue builder flying under the radar, Tim Prince is flying pretty low, and that's a shame his work is just beautiful.
As far as the show went, the lighting was just awful, and no open tables to try out the cues. You would think after 3 months of preparation this would not be an issue.
Needless to say my money stayed in my pocket, but I will be seriously looking into trying out one of Tim's cues, and if they play as nice as they look The money won't be in my pocket for long.

I agree. His stuff is pretty impressive and until the Windy City show I have never heard of Mr. Prince. He definitley has a bright future ahead of him.

they had two bar boxes for test driving
right next to me & pat diveny's table
on the end farthest from the front door
tim had some great looking cues there:thumbup:

a few guys did try and take over one of them playing partners,
but they were asked to not do that
so they left the table

Jim Engels, one of the Chicagoland area's best players, has been shooting with a Tim Prince for a few years now. Prince cues have been around, play well and his inlays were some of the cleanest at the show.
