Private Messages - Question

Sorry, but I have a stupid question regarding PM's. Has anyone ever seen that you had a new PM but when you go to check it, there are none that are new?

This is not the same as when people say that have 64,000 new PM's; this says that I have (1) new Private Message, but when I go to check it; there are no new messages. In addition, even though I go in and check it, when I go back to the main forum, it still says that I have one unread PM.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

i have the same thing.. except if you look at the bottom in old messages there is a unread message with not subject dated 1969 so it shows up as old, but unread.

best i can figure out anyway.

ok i did just try,, if you delete the last message that has appeared in your box that carries the date 12-31-1969 you will get rid of the one unread message alert.. don't know where it come from though.
 
probably from the same source as all the porn spam that was being sent in PM's earlier today. I would guess it's an artifact of the cleansing of said spam.

Guys, this probably has to do with the accounts being hacked today. There is a thread on this as well. Please go check it out; it appears that some users' accounts were hijacked in order to send links to porn websites that contained trojans/spyware. That's probably where that extra PM is from, but I think the mods had already taken care of the problem by the time some of us got to it. I had the same thing in my inbox when I just checked a few mins ago.

That was it, Thanks. I couldn't open (because I think the Mods corrected); therefore, I deleted.
