Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

After losing the first two sets, Team Philippines won the next two sets and the shootout to take the title.

In the shootout both teams made their first 3 shots in a row and both missed their 4th shots. Then Maciol missed the 5th and Roda made his.

I noticed the following that happens a lot in trap shooting that happens during a shootout.
1. The player misses his/her first shot.
2. If a player misses, the other player misses the very next shot.
3. If a player is straight from the second diamond and could win on the fourth shot, he/she misses that shot.
These are just pressure points where your brain starts messing with your muscles. Keep these in mind when viewing a shootout next time ... it makes it more fun for me.
Okay, I might be sounding like a broken record, but forgive me.
I just watched the latest episode of Sharivari on YouTube where he was talking about how difficult it is for him to perform at his true ability in live competition because of the mental stress, and I understand completely. As much as people think that pool is "the most mental game" this is furthest from the truth as can be seen from the shootout, which is 100% mental. A pro should NEVER miss a spot shot from the second diamond in practice, period. If the do, they are really mentally weak.

From the post I quoted above, the 3 points mainly apply to amateur trapshooters so this tells me that the pool pros performs like an amateur trapshooter during the shootout. An elite trapshooter almost never miss after the shooter before him misses.

If you don't know what trapshooting is you might want to check out the video below. Trapshooting has 3 disciplines, singles, handicap and doubles. They are shooting handicap here, where the elite shoot from the "back fence" or 27 yards. Singles is shot from the furthest position up which is 16 yards. The target flies anywhere in a 34 degree arc so you don't know where it's going. The guy that won, Dagen Voigtman, is currently the best trapshooter in the world. Notice how he does the same thing, even fixing his glasses, every time. If he has to shoot in a pool shootout he won't miss in 1,000 shots from the second diamond, guaranteed 😆
