Pro Pool Players and Comps

I was recently talking with a knowlegeable insider about some pro players and what they get for appearance fees, among other things. I was pretty surprised to find out that Jeanette Lee now gets $15,000 for an appearance fee. A few years ago it was $5000.

We were also talking about what some pro players ask to get comped for showing up to play in events and how this is hurting the sport.

What pros do you know get comped and for what?

Hi Barbara. Are you talking about appearances for tournaments, exhibitions or just showing up and smiling/signing autographs.

I had contacted a couple pros a few years back when the guys first opened our local room hoping to get an exhibition. The prices were oughta the rooms budget at the time but I didn't think they were unreasonable.

I haven't been out to many large events in a while. Are the spectator crowds big enough now to pay players to show??
