just thought i'd post some personal highlights of the tournmanents i've seen so far. the first tournamnet i ever attended was in 1987 in binghamton n.y. in a ritzy 20 story swanky holliday inn. i was 27. sigel was there. kieth Mckredy. kim davenport, lou buttera. the 2 highlights of this tournament was watching jean balukus play in the mens tournament! holly crap!!!!! she played like a man! confident accurate and deadly! she took care of 80% of them real good, and her jump shots, to this day!!!!! were the most incredible jump shots you'd ever wanna see!!! the other highlight was watching jim rempe play pinpoint position. altthough it was 9-ball, he was playing straight pool position! 3 inches from the object ball, and a 13 degree angle, close and cozy, he eventually won the tournament. but i guess the real highlight of that tournament was when rempe was playing in one of his matches, and his opponent was shooting, i went up to jim and asked, jim is that the $10,000 muecci? he said in a whispered tone, as if not to disturb his opponent, yeah, i said, could i see it? he held it up close to my face, and my knees felt weak! if you doubt me, the blue book of pool cues, said this particular cue, is perhaps the fanciest cue ever made! the cue had in it's butt sleeve a kings crown in 24k gold, inside arranged in a big way was rubies diamonds and emeralds. meucci made only one of these for jim rempe who's nick name as we know is the king hence the name of the cue was "king james" wow what a fine looking cue. my next tournament to watch was a 3-cushion tournament in astoria queens at a place called ables. a small hall, that kept their tables in such condition, you needed sun glasses, from the shine of the rails! sang lee stole the show! his amazing brain with his banks, were akward, brilliant, and caught everyone off guard! what a player. i think he won the tournament. this next tournament i didn't see in person, but what a final game!!!!! do you remeber in 1998 the sudden death game between kunihiko takahashi and kun fang lee at the international callenge of champions? the sudden death game was incredible. one game for $50,000. they both were playing safe/kick/safe/kic/safe/kic/safe/kick, lon Mckaron the commentater said it best when he said "the saaftey play has really jacked up the tension inside the wolf den here at the mohegan sun". kun fang lee eventually won, but what a game! here's another one that i wasn't at, but oh momma! 1999? nationals allison fisher vs. vivian villiareal in the finals. allison plays better than willie mosconi in dead stroke!!!!! vivian gets one chance, gets to the table, pockets the 9-ball and scrtches in slow pocket speed, and collapeses on the table, while ewa and mitch take a seditive! WOW! this next one i WAS at. reporters called this next match "the best match in the last 42 years of reporting pool" "if you died and went to heaven, this is the match you would see" i myself, had to leave the venue after them match, due to a panic attack from the match!!!!!! that's how UNbeleivable it was!!!!! the year was 1999. the place mohegan sun, the venue the wolf den. the I.C.O.C. semi final #1. souquetvs.ortmann. lag, souquet wins, breaks and performs the worlds most difficult and incredible run out. sq1 or0 alt breaks ortmann breaks and performs a hudini run out, souquet breaks and runs out, ortmann breaks and runs out, and has to perform a full masse to a ball in the CENTER of the table to do so!!!!! p.s. 5 of the most splendid break and runs humans ever witnessed!!!!!!!! after that it was the tightest safty battles, that make pilgrims look loose! what i match!!!!! bustamante beat ortmann in the finals, but that semi final was a dream! i wasn't at this next one, but i own the tape. that magical year 1999 again, reyes runs 9 of the most incredible racks on bustamante at cardiff, people who have this on tape, know i ain't joking when i say, this was the world's greatest 9-ball run. yes niels fiejlns has the offical high run of 15 racks, but reyes here, was sheer magic, hence the name "the magician" and finally, i wasn't there, but i have the tape, fong pang chao sudden death, at the 2001 I.C.O.C. the playing here with his full length reverse escape to half a pocket, and his jump 4 cush position, for the cash and title of champion of champion, makes this the single most greatest and exciting 9-ball game ever. well, just thought i'd share.

My Dad went to see Jim Rempe exhibition in England and Jim had security guards around him becuase of his cue.
