Probably set a record today. Launched the cue ball 7 times in a row off the table

Just got tired of having a lousy draw shot, so I decided to tackle the problem head on. Watched a few videos, went back to the basics.
started drawing the cue ball 6 inches, then 12 inches, etc. things would slowly go good for a while, and I was finding a groove.

it’s when I went for a longer draw shot that the record was broken. I was trying to go low, very low on the cue ball. Letting the butt of the cue go low, level cue, nice light grip on the back hand, what I thought was a good stroke: BOOM, CUE BALL FLYS OFF THE TABLE.

WHEN I PLAY POOL, MY DOG IS NORMALLY IN THE HOUSE SOMEWHERE NEAR ME. HES OF COURSE SLEEPING. BUT AS SOON AS HE HEARS THE CUE BALL LAUNCH, THE MUTT WAKES UP AND RUNS AFTER THE CUE BALL. IF HE GETS TO IT FIRST, HE GRABS IT WITH HIS MOUTH AND PLAYS CATCH ME POPPI. ( sorry for all caps😩)

this happened 6 more times in a row.

very demoralizing. But I’m not a quitter. I pulled the chair behind the corner pocket, to catch the ball the next tim. 😎😎😎

after all this launching, I finally got my draw shot where I need it to be. I only play on bar tables, so I don’t really need a power draw shot,

for me, the draw shot has always been a tough shot. Hopefully not anymore. 👍

A good draw is a product of tip placement AND cue acceleration. You don't need to get super low on whitey if you have a good stroke. I can easily draw it the length of 9ft and have never jumped cueball off the box.

I can draw the Cueball the length of the Table (8 Ft ) with a lot of torque to speak. CJ Wiley helped me a lot on this. Cue placement and stroke has everything to do with it but you don’t hold the cue level. Go to his website and see what CJ does. Very effective
