after talking with dave albrecht (nbll01) he told me he glues 2 .032 rings together to make up one fat ring. well i figured id give it a shot. last night i took an old house cue i had lying around and did a test on it. here are the results.

no visible line at all. small passes with the router and lite sand ing with 220. came out perfect

thanks dave. youre the man

sorry for the bad pics

thanks didnt want to ruin a good cue...lol

i also know this isnt the correct section but so many makers are looking for these rings so i figured it was the best place.

just wanted to pass on the good advice from daveA

sandwiched rings

I had this problem three years ago and dealt with it slightly differently. I sandwiched a brass ring between two nickel silver rings. The subtle color difference, because they were all 0.015" thick, made a nice contract with the bacote wood in the cue. Any of the darker woods would show this same gentle contrast. I believe lighter woods would not show as nice a contrast but I haven't tried that so I'm only guessing here.

Dave, Ive also done the .015 rings a lot to and as long as you sand them and glue them under pressure they turn out without a line in them.....Dave
