Production shafts vs custom (low deflection shafts)

Who makes a good custom low deflection shaft and how do they differ from an OB-1? If I have a shaft I like the taper of, does it make sense to have shaft made with the same taper but laminated? or does this effect the low-deflection nature of the shaft?

Custom shafts Question?

I've been kinda wondering a similar question, It seems that a lot of pro's shoot with low deflection shafts, I see alot of High dollar cues on here and was wondering how there shafts play or do people have a predator or ob shaft made to fit and hold onto the other shafts for resale.?

The second part of your question is correct. The taper of the LD shafts has a lot to do with their play characteristics. This is where 'flex point' comes into play.
There's been a ton of R&D that has gone into their evolution. I'm not speaking of just one brand either. They all know how to make an LD shaft and they all know of the end result that they seek. They're just getting to the same place by different methods.
The shared commonality in all of them though is low front-end mass. The lighter the front-end, the quicker it gets off the ball.
