Professor Deuel

Quote from Bazarus : The perfect example is story of Lord Vader in Star Wars.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I was just thinking that Corey might turn to the dark side and try to take over the universe. Are you on crack?

Ever wonder why Vader is titled "Lord" while the rest of the jedi masters are labeled "Master"? :D Sorry, old joke.

Getting back to the topic, I've only seen Deuel on TV, and he does seem like an aloof person. Many times aloofness appears as arrogance.

Bro, you can put smile on someones face :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Good luck to him and if they offer him free tuition tell him to jump on it.

Trust me, I'm trying to finish up now but it only gets harder when you have a family, house, car-payments, etc...

As for his personality I can only speak to the 2 times I have seen him and he seemed like a decent enough guy to me. I didn't speak with him but I noticed he didn't have a problem talking it up with the fans.

Im not sure but I know one thing, I'd rather be a Lord than a Master Debator

lol, I like to poke and make fun. I think that if everyone on here would look at things a little bit lighter then all of these threads about things becoming boring would come to a halt.

Because he mentioned crack? That's a nasty habit. :D
:D LOL:D
Not because of the crack which I don't do...anymore.
I'm a big fan of Star Wars and it was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard about arogance versus skills.

BTW

I wonder if Corey uses The Force while playing?

He may use the force. I've wondered why he sometimes seems so disinterested and aloof during a match. It may be because he knows that the force will kick in whenever he needs it. He is a lot more focused on the golf course, oddly enough.

That makes perfect sens, he needs another chalange.

The few times I've met Corey over the years, he was nice and very approachable. When asking him for an autograph, he reacted almost as if "wow, you want MY autograph, sure....". Last year at the DCC, I was watching him practice and my eye caught his cue. I asked him about it and he came over and handed it to me to look at while explaining it was a Woodpecker, etc. He seems to be a bit shy, and maybe beacuse of this and the mostly low-key personality I've seen out of him, he may seem arrogant, but I haven't detected this trait when being around him in person.

Hmm, I wonder if he just doesn't like Mika and Ralf? Seems odd, but that must have been it. I guess we all have people we don't get along with. It just seemed odd to me, he would treat these two people poorly or act that way. Of course, I only heard/saw half the story on TV. Hard to make a judgment. I guess I over-reacted.

On the other hand, I don't put up with crap like that when I'm in a match. I really can't believe that those instances don't bother some of you. Only Njhustler1 commented about those situations. It is like you are afraid to talk about it. If it were Earl, this thread would have gone crazy. Man, that guy, Earl, he can draw a crowd. LOL

ALL pool players are a**holes!...even me

yes it is true. lemme splain.....

it doesn't matter what player you mention, someone somewhere will think they are an a**hole while others may think they hung the moon. both sides are probably right since they base their conclusion on their own personal experiences with that player.

one of my favorite players is scott frost. i think he is a pretty cool guy. i met him in kansas city one year and he was well-spoken and actually cordial to me. having said that, i can also see where other people can say he is a big time jerk. i have seen act in a....well....'unprofessional' manner towards other people. to me though, he was cool. there are players that i think are penile; daulton, hennessee, jack hines (although it would be tough to find someone to take up for him) just to name a few but some people love these guys (except maybe jack). hell, even two of the favorites on this board have been known to piss some people off; basavich and keith.

point is these are based on opinions and everyone has one.

also, i think that siths are called "lord", while jedis are called "masters". i may be wrong on that though.

Well, maybe I'm wrong. I certainly don't know him personally. Maybe his attitude in those two instances were not representative of who he is. I'm all for the better of the game, and his volunteering his time is certainly commendable.

I guess like other people from the US, I hate seeing how we as a country look when our players use disrespect to players from other nations. I know this can go both ways, and it does, but it all really gets old having to see these lines drawn so often.

I guess when I see sharking or rudeness in a pro match, I just find it childish. Actually I find it childish period.
There are usually two sides to every story and you only heard one side before making a judgement on Cory. I am very good friends with Dee Adkins, Cory and Dee live together and there is a lot of history between those players not just the one side you have heard.

I thought I already said that.

No hard feeling for anyone. I just find it funny that I make a comment with reasons, and everyone supports him. I mean a lot of posts in a short period of time. But I call for comments about that behavior in those two instances and no one will touch the post for over 2 hours. The ones who did, still didn't really say anything about it.

It just goes to show that people like to make excuses for their heroes. Hey, I'm no exception. I do the same thing for my heroes. I would even bet money, if I hung around Cory, I'd be a big fan. But I still wouldn't condone that type of behavior, especially on TV. People's silence sure make it seem like they admit it was not the right thing to do.

I'm not one for bashing people, but I do not like mistreatment of others. I could of handled the first post better. But just like Earl in the 2004 Skins Game, some things are hard to forget, especially when they are not asking for forgiveness.

I couldn't agree more.

Jedis become "Masters" when their skills riches its full capacity, just like in pool "Master" refer to a pro player.
When a Jedi turns to the dark side it becomes a "Darth". When a "Darth's" skills are completed he becomes a "Lord". There is only one "Sith" who is to be best of the best, the one that can stop others from dying.

BTW
Who would that be in pool world I wonder?
