Promoters! Please Explain This to Me-

Hello All,

Because I have only played in and never ran a tournament, can you please explain this to me.
I cannot always see a "move" but given the situation...:confused:


At the Tornado Open, I took pictures of the brackets.

Someone I know from Chicago (Rebecca Wagner) was entered in the pro event, so I looked for her, but never found her.

It looked like she forfeit her match, so I figured she had other things going on.

Today I asked her "what happened?"

Hi Rebecca!
Question:
Did you pay to play in the Tornado Open?
I saw your name on the bracket.

Her response to me:
No.
I asked Vivian if I could play the amateur nine ball and was told no but she would give me a spot in the pro event (I wasn't invited originally).
I thanked her for that opportunity but didn't commit to coming.
Didn't fill out an entry nor did I pay an entry fee.
I have no idea how I ended up in the draw

Weirdness... but everything about her actions is negative, and using your name for something seems uncool in this case.

Looks like they didn't have 64 for the woman side.
VV wanted $25,000 added for the women
 
And the plot thickens.

So the other guy (Pedro) pays his entry. Can't make it. Doesn't get his money refunded, but is removed from the brackets.

Rebecca doesn't pay her entry, but is included on the brackets.


If anyone wants to continue defending VV, they are free to do so, but I see no reason too.
 
Is this the same Rebecca Wagner that is #13 on the top 100 USA womens player list. The same Rebecca Wagner that double dipped Alison Fisher at Chinook Winds last year to win the tournament? Same Rebecca Wager that won both the USBT 8 ball and 9 ball and took 2nd in 10 ball? Also won the All Around title for that event? She wanted to register for the amateur division at the Tornado Open? That's just as rediculous as Vivian putting her on a board when she had no intention of going.. #stealing
 
i wonder who paid her entry fee then or if it was added to the prize fund.

Such a joke.
Those who can't see the scam going on in all of this have some serious intellectual deficiencies.

Probably the 2 guys on here who got screwed out their entry fee

You make some excellent points here but here's the thing : in these tournaments all over the place their seems to be an ever changing line or prerequisite as to determining who a pro is and who isnt. Seems like it's just up to whoever the TD / promoter is on any given day / event . Guess ya cant blame her for trying lol ��
