So was there a chance?

Hey all

I knew there was some talk about people passing the cues around to fellow Az'ers...Was that going to happen? Or did someone squash that idea?

It's Here!

Just got my J&D CUSTOM cue! I am going to play some tonight so will post more in the morning. Cue looks clean and feels very well balanced. Will get in more detail in my next post. Just want to say thanks to J&D for picking me as one of the two winners. If there are any specific questions on the cue any azers want answered (such as finish, shaft size ect...) please list them here. I will do my best to answer them when I return.

Thumbs Up!

This cue hits ungodly! I played about 4 1/2 hrs last night and may have missed 5 shots I meant to make. I was a little worried when I first got to the hall because the shaft diameter is 12.75 and I usually like 13 plus. I was very surprised how stiff the cue shot and how much feel I got with it.
My cue is 20.5 oz and is still balanced 2 inches infront the wrap, it feels great. The butt is made of wenge wood. The grains are simular to cocobola. The finish is very smooth and glossy no pits or swirls. Wrap is tight and even. The only thing I would change is the beveled edges on the joint. They match up perfectly, but I think a flat edge would keep with the clean look of the cue better. Just my .02. I let a few peple at the hall shoot with the cue and everyone thought the cue played extremely well, not all liked the weight but that is to be expected. I will get other top players in the area to shoot with it durring the week. Trying to shrink pics so I can post them.

Mike

You only missed 5 shots in 4&1/2 hours that you meant to make? I think you better hit the "Tour". Personally, I would leave out the "ungodly" part and stick to more of an "unbiased" description. "Ungodly" makes it sound too much like you got a free cue. Oops....I guess you did get a free cue. : )

That is my opinion and as far as a free cue goes...the good thing about it beeing free is if i did not like it i could not use it and would have lost nothing. But the cue did play ungodly to me...far surpased my expectations.. sounds like u are a little bitter to me but that has nothin to do with how the cue plays. There are people out there that are looking for a very good playing cue without having to pay $1000 for it. I am only letting those people know this cue fits that discription. If you notice my post I also said what changes I would make and my intial hesitance at the shaft size... all honest opinions... Anyone that is comming to visit in New Orleans let me know, I would be glad to let you play some with it. Also considering I am a good player, but not one that has those types of nights very often(like most of us) I was very happy I was that comfortable with the cue that fast... hit just felt natrual to me... I usually take a while to adjust to a new cue.

Mike

Easy Mike, I'm not bitter. But I think that you would be doing J&D a favor by taking the "ungodly" out of the description. I know that when I see stuff like that in commercials advertising something, it immediately loses credibility for me.

Just my 2 cents.

Regards,
Doug

Thanks Chris working on it now.

Thought you all would like to know I won the tourny at "The Big Easy" last night. First tourny I have played with my new cue. I went all the way through the winners side. I have not won that tourney in a long while.
I am really impressed with the playability of the cue. With that being said, I looked the cue over when I got home and now there is a bubble in the finish on the butt plate. I looked for a ding in the wood to see if it was caused by hitting it on something, but I did not see anything but a bubble.
It is very humid here (usually 90-100%), I do not know if that played a factor. Will show pics later.

As far as a playing cue goes I think J&D CUSTOMS makes one of the best out there. I cannot vouch for anything fancier, but If you are looking for a "plain jane" that hits lights out, give J&D a call.

Thanx Jager Monster

Jager,

Thanx for the response on the cues hit and balance. Glad you were happy with it.
As far as the finish goes , shoot me some pics of the bubbles and let us take a look.
Our finish is always up to standards , have to take a look.
As far as the overall cue you seem very happy.
Oh by the way , i aquired a lil gabon ebony and just a thought , may put olive wood with it, Maybe some points top and bottom , you never know! Think anyone would like it?
Thanx again,
J&D
